Audi proves that coupe-inspired SUVs are still in demand with the introduction of the Q3 Sportback. Following the electric Q4 Sportback E-Tron and the gas-powered Q5 Sportback, this compact crossover adds a pseudo-coupe aesthetic to Audi’s lineup.

The Sportback’s roofline is 1.1 inches (29 mm) lower than the standard Q3, reducing cargo space to 45.5 cubic feet (1,289 liters) with rear seats folded. Outward visibility is also slightly restricted. Despite these compromises and the slightly higher price, coupe-style SUVs continue to attract buyers seeking both style and practicality.

Under the hood, the Q3 Sportback offers 1.5 and 2.0 TFSI gasoline engines, a 2.0 TDI diesel, and a plug-in hybrid. Only the more powerful 2.0 TFSI comes with Quattro, while the rest are front-wheel drive. Interior highlights include an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and an optional 420-watt Sonos sound system with 12 speakers.

In Germany, the base Q3 Sportback starts at €46,450, €1,850 more than the equivalent standard Q3. Whether Audi will bring this model to the United States remains uncertain.
