TikTok is introducing a new wellness hub called Time and Well-being, designed to encourage healthier digital habits and reward users for reducing doomscrolling and improving sleep routines. This feature expands on the app’s existing screen-time menu but adds interactive tools and gamified missions that make wellness part of the TikTok experience.

The hub includes an affirmation journal with over 120 cards, allowing users to set daily intentions, save them, or share them with friends. A soothing sound generator offers calming options such as rain, ocean waves, and white noise, paired with guided breathing exercises to promote mindfulness. These tools are meant to help users relax and disconnect from constant scrolling.

A key addition is the introduction of well-being missions. Users can earn badges by meeting sleep goals, sticking to daily screen-time limits, completing weekly check-ins, and inviting friends to join wellness challenges. This gamified approach adds accountability and motivation, turning healthier habits into achievements that can be tracked and celebrated.

The hub is integrated directly into TikTok’s settings but also appears automatically when users hit screen-time limits or activate the “Take a Break” feature. This ensures that wellness tools are not hidden but surface at the moments when users need them most.

The move reflects a broader industry trend where social media platforms are under pressure to balance engagement with responsibility. Doomscrolling and poor sleep patterns have become widespread concerns, especially among younger audiences. By embedding wellness tools directly into its app, TikTok is positioning itself as a platform that not only entertains but also supports healthier lifestyles.
