According to the latest leak, the Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds will feature a new QN3e processor, which is reportedly up to three times faster than the chip used in the WF-1000XM5. This new processor plays a key role in improving both active noise cancellation and overall audio processing.
Sony has also upgraded the noise-canceling system by increasing the number of microphones. Each earbud now includes four adaptive microphones, bringing the total to eight, compared to six in the previous generation. This enhancement allows for more precise detection and suppression of ambient noise.
The WF-1000XM6 comes with new audio drivers and supports advanced features such as LDAC, DSEE Extreme, a 10-band equalizer, Auracast, Multipoint connectivity, Fast Pair, and Swift Pair.
Battery life is rated at eight hours on a single charge, while the charging case provides two additional full charges for a total of 16 hours. The earbuds are also IPX4-rated, offering protection against splashes.
Design improvements include better ergonomics, optimized airflow management, and an in-app fit test to ensure proper sealing. The earbuds also support 360 Reality Audio with head tracking and feature a smarter ambient sound mode with three automatic profiles.
Inside the box, users will find four different sizes of ear tips for improved comfort and fit.
