Samsung has entered a new stage of One UI 8.5 testing and has closed beta registration for new users in South Korea.
At the same time, there are signs that Samsung is preparing a fourth beta build for the Galaxy S25 series, so the closure appears to reflect a pause on adding new participants during this period.
One UI 8.5 testing in South Korea began on December 8, and Samsung has not announced an official One UI 8.5 roadmap yet. Still, the expectation is that the new interface will first appear with the Galaxy S26 series, after which it will be distributed to older supported devices.
On the feature side, One UI 8.5 is said to include a new floating tab bar and improved reachability for buttons and in-app features across the interface. Samsung is also streamlining on-device AI image editing, allowing multiple edits to be applied to photos without manually saving each iteration.
The update also improves Quick Share and Storage Share, and a new QuickStar Good Lock module is mentioned, enabling users to personalize Quick Settings toggles in unique ways, including with custom backgrounds and photos.
Beyond that, One UI 8.5 is expected to bring a set of smaller tweaks and refinements across the user interface.
